Oticon Hearing Aids:

Oticon was founded 100 years ago by Hans Demant and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a global leader in hearing aids, Oticon sells an estimated 14% to 16% of the hearing aids in the United States.

Oticon produces many styles and models of quality digital hearing aid instruments internationally including Adapto, Gaia, Atlas and Sumo.

In 2001, Oticon came out with the Adapto hearing aids that have many innovative features including the VoiceFinder, which adapts to various sounds and recognizes voices to ensure that the aid maximizes speech clarity. Oticon has also developed a new OpenEar Acoustics technology that controls occlusion while at the same time minimizing feedback and whistling. In 2002 the Adapto won the European Information Society Technology Prize for its outstanding technological innovation.

The Atlas models are offered in a variety of shapes and colours including very tiny completely-in-the canal (CIC), in-the-canal (ITC), in-the-ear (ITE) and behind-the-ear (BTE) devices. Atlas hearing aids are affordable digital aids that are equipped with an automatic volume control. An Oticon Atlas BTE costs about $1600.

Oticon's Sumo which stands for 'Super Power Maximum Output' is offered as BTE aid that is great for both adults and children in that it is lightweight and robust and available in many tones and colors with many unique accessories.
