Siemens Hearing Aids:siemens

Siemens Hearing Instruments is one of the best-known names in hearing device technology. Throughout its 125-year history, Siemens has been a leader in the research and development of quality hearing products. An industry trade publication estimates that Siemens has over 20% of the hearing aid market in the United States alone.

Siemens Hearing Instruments offers behind-the-ear (BTE), in-the-ear (ITE), in-the-canal (ITC) and completely-in-the-canal (CIC) models through many product families including Triano, Prisma 2, Music Pro, and Phoenix Pro.

Siemens Phoenix Pro models are basic digital aids that are equipped with programmable controls to better suit the needs of the user. The Phoenix Pro BTE is practical in that it is designed with a Telecoil (T-coil) to greatly assist in telephone conversations. And, to benefit children, it has an outlet which enables the user to connect to other listening devices as well as a locked battery case.

Siemens Prisma 2 hearing aids are offered in an extensive range of models with a variety of feature options. Siemens' patented TwinMic directional microphone system is an option in Prisma 2 models which allow the user to choose whether they want to hear sound from all directions or from the front, which is a great benefit in conversational situations. Prisma 2 models can also be equipped with automatic volume control which reduces annoying background noise and a feedback protection system. The Siemens Prisma 2 behind-the-ear (BTE) basic model can cost upwards of $1,700, with earmolds costing extra.

Siemens also has an extensive line of assistive hearing devices including telephones, alarm clocks, baby monitors and personal listeners to name but a few. They also produce and sell hearing aid batteries.
