Oticon Adapto:
What makes Adapto Hearing Aids unique? During the development of Adapto, hearing aid users tested and constantly evaluated the instrument. These people have helped Oticon improve Adapto, and Adapto has helped them improve their lives. Adapto is unique, not just because of what it can do but because it is built on three revolutionary innovations:
How does the VoiceFinder work? The VoiceFinder works in much the same way as your brain. It constantly monitors the environment for sound and adapts to changes accordingly. The VoiceFinder automatically detects the presence of speech. It processes incoming sound to give you maximum speech understanding. And it ensures that you get as much as possible out of conversation. When no speech is present, the VoiceFinder automatically tunes out background noise and saves you from unnecessary annoyance.
OpenEar Acoustics When a hearing aid is placed in the ear, speaking or chewing - may sound unnatural and unpleasantly loud; as if you were talking from inside a barrel. This effect is called occlusion, and is caused by sounds being trapped in the ear canal. The only effective remedy for this is to keep the ear canal open.
Previous hearing aids required the ear canal to be mostly plugged up; otherwise amplified sound would leak out from the ear and into the microphone again in an endless loop. This so-called 'acoustic feedback' has until now, resulted in a very unpleasant and loud whistling.
Oticon has now found a solution that facilitates a more 'open-ear' fitting without the risk of feedback- a solution called OpenEar Acoustics.
Today hundreds of thousands of hearing impaired people wear Oticon digital instruments. The design of Adapto is based on all the user experiences we've received over the years. That's why we're confident that Adapto will provide such superior sound quality, ease of use and comfort, that it will significantly improve your quality of life!
Program Cost: $2,299 or $60/mo.
