The Environment-Based Programming makes it easier than ever to create listening programs designed specifically for your lifestyle. This feature allows you and the Hearing Professional to work together and create up to 4 listening programs based off eight pre-set real-life scenarios. The Hybrid Noise Reduction provides a fixed amount of noise reduction for soft sounds and then adapts or increases the amount as the noise level increases. This provides a more precise level of wearing comfort for the wearer.

New with the Ion 400 are the water-resistant features for improved reliability and performance. To control the effects of moisture, a GORE membrane covers the microphones, a hydrophobic coating on the casing shields the device, and an O-ring seal integrated in the battery door also controls moisture.
